About Us
5J Paintball is a family owned and operated Houston paintball company with over 25 years combined experience in paintball. Our love for the sport grew to the point where we wanted to do our part to help grow the paintball community, provide a paintball field park with quality staff and service, and have a park that our family could call home. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
Our journey in paintball began when our two oldest sons were invited to a paintball party. We were the typical first time paintball parents thinking, oh my goodness, you can’t do that because you’ll get hurt. It was summertime in Houston and we bundled our kids up like it was 20 degrees below zero. There was no way a paintball was going to hurt our kids….well, we soon learned that was about as excessive and extreme on our part as you can get. Looking back now we laugh about it; other than the required protective gear, all they needed was comfortable clothing to cover their bodies: long pants and long sleeved shirt, and sturdy footwear that covers and protects your feet.
Shortly thereafter we were hooked on paintball. It became a weekend event for our entire family. It’s amazing how a sport can bring your family so much closer together….it was the perfect family bonding activity for us.
After about a year we formed a 3-man Houston paintball team and our two oldest sons started playing local tournaments with one of their friends. The following year we formed a second 3-man team for our youngest son along with two more friends to play in those same tournaments.
Today, we have merged those teams into a PSP X-ball team and with our sons, along with some really awesome friends, we now compete nationally in the PSP events.
That brings me back to the paintball field. Because we are living proof of what paintball can do for people, we want to create those same opportunities and experiences for others. We help people get started in the sport, provide an avenue to create lasting friendships, facilitate the best team building event ever, and have the most exciting parties you can imagine. And in the end, we create some of the most awesome and exhilarating moments that you’ll always remember.
